  • A Culture That Celebrates Art, Color & Craft

Join us as we explore centuries-old artisan souks and modern art tucked inside medina riads.

Marrakesh is a feast for the senses – a city alive with creativity.

We’ll sip mint tea on a rooftop at an artist-run gallery, get hands-on with clay at a traditional pottery studio, and get our spice on in a Moroccan cooking class.

This is a journey into a living archive of textiles, tilework, and taste — where culture isn’t just observed, but shared.

  • Queer Travel Safety in Morocco

Morocco isn’t known as a queer hotspot, but with care and cultural awareness, it offers an incredibly warm, welcoming, and safe experience.

We’ve explored Marrakesh with fellow LGBTQIA+ travelers and felt deeply welcomed. While public displays of affection are generally avoided culturally (regardless of sexuality), the city itself is vibrant, friendly, and full of heart — especially when experienced with a trusted group and queer-led hosts.

  • Dusty Desert Adventures & Relaxing Rituals

This morning, Marrakesh opens her arms to us in full color. We’ll wind our way through the vibrant souks, where the air is filled with spices, textiles spill from every stall, and artisans showcase their centuries-old crafts. Our destination: the Bahia Palace, an architectural masterpiece dripping in detail and history. After soaking up its grandeur, we’ll head to the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum for a hands-on cooking class, learning how to craft authentic dishes before savoring them together for lunch. The evening is yours – watch the day fade from our rooftop with tea in hand, or gather a group to taste more of Marrakesh’s magic at a nearby restaurant.

Day 4 is all about exploring the rich colors, textures, creativity, and craftsmanship of Marrakesh – starting with a morning walk through the souks. We’ll quietly wander and observe the peaceful, yet bustling morning life of local shopkeepers as they prepare to open for the day. Down a quiet alley, we’ll step into a converted riad that’s now an eclectic art gallery – enjoying tea and pastries on its sunny rooftop. With the afternoon free, you can shop, snack, or simply wander the souks at your own pace. Later, we’ll roll up our sleeves in a pottery workshop, learning ancient techniques to craft your own keepsake from Morocco’s clay-rich heritage.

Along the way, you can opt for a camel ride, adding a little adventure to the journey. We’ll enjoy a riverside lunch in the Ourika Valley, learn about Amazigh traditions, and wander through charming villages before sitting down to experience the best of High Atlas hospitality over a delicious home cooked meal in the mountains.

The morning is slow and gentle – time to savor coffee in the courtyard or sneak in some last-minute shopping. Those who wish can visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the iconic Jardin Majorelle, a vibrant oasis of queer design and desert botanicals. In the late afternoon, we’ll head into the Agafay Desert for golden-hour magic. First, a 4×4 ride through the rolling dunes, watching the sunset over the horizon, followed by a private dinner and campfire show beneath a blanket of stars. It’s a dazzling finale to cap off our week with queer joy and firelit conversations.

    Activity Level

This retreat invites you to wander, wonder, and take your time. Marrakesh is city alive with color, culture and craftmanship, and we’ll explore it with intention, not urgency. You can expect light to moderate activity, mostly on foot through the medina’s winding alleys, spice-scented souks, and serene gardens. While the city’s energy is vibrant, our itinerary builds in balance – with rooftop downtime, courtyard lounging, and optional outdoor activities like camel or ATV rides and hot air baloons at sunrise. Just bring comfortable shoes and curiosity for what’s around the next corner.

    Travel Style

Marrakesh is a place of contrasts – ancient and modern, chaotic and serene – and our retreat leans into that beautiful duality. Expect a travel style that is deeply immersive, sensorial, and soulful. We’ll slow down to sip tea in tiled courtyards, learn local crafts, dine under the stars, and explore design-forward spaces filled with centuries of cultural influence. This is so much more than just LGBTQ+ group travel, this is a thoughtfully a curated celebration of queer presence in a place where art, ritual, and community run deep.

    Where Will We Be Staying?

We’ll be staying at a stunning Moroccan boutique Riad (one of the two pictured), carefully selected for its charm, comfort, and privacy. Picture hand-carved details, colorful tilework, and serene courtyard — Both stays feature a pool and a rooftop terrace, with plenty of cozy spaces to unwind or connect over mint tea.

The exact accommodation will be confirmed closer to the retreat, depending on our group size. But no matter where we land, you can expect luxe comfort, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that feels like home. Our Riad will be private to our group — a safe, welcoming space to be yourself, rest deeply, and build meaningful LGBTQIA+ friendships — all while soaking up the vibrant soul of Marrakesh.
