Meet Your Hosts — The Creators of Queer Connect
Hi! We’re Janni (they/them) and Korbyn (she/her) – a trans and queer couple and the co-founders of Queer Connect, a global LGBTQIA+ directory and networking platform. In an effort to foster more queer connection around the world, we’re creating inclusive LGBTQ+ group trips that center genuine connection, community, and belonging.
As a queer couple, we’ve lived across multiple continents and spent five transformative years in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai stole our hearts and showed us the power of real queer connection, it’s where we fell in love – not just with each other, but with living life “Thai style” – it taught us a way of living (and traveling) that prioritizes presence, care, community, and most of all, FUN.
Currently we’re based in Porto, Portugal, where we’re continuing to reaffirm our belief that queer community and chosen family can be built wherever we go. Whether it’s over shared meals, local adventures, or simple everyday moments, we’re reminded that when queer folks come together with intention, magic happens.
As LGBTQ travelers who understand what it means to seek safety, joy, and belonging, we aim to bring empathy, excitement, and care to every retreat we host. We’re not your ordinary trip guides, we’re your space-holders, your hype team, and fellow adventurers. Who Are Queer Connect’s LGBTQ+ Group Trips For?
Our retreats are for LGBTQIA+ travelers who crave more than your typical “gay-cation” – folks looking for connection, culture, and community in a space that feels safe, affirming, and truly inclusive. We specialize in community-inclusive LGBTQIA+ group travel and intentionally design our trips to hold space for all gender identities and expressions.
These group trips are meaningful LGBTQIA+ travel experiences rooted in cultural immersion, queer joy, and genuine connection with like-minded travelers.
As a trans-led travel company and a queer travel couple, we have lived experience navigating trans travel – from dealing with visas to managing HRT and top surgery abroad, we know firsthand what affirming, thoughtful travel looks like.
While most of our group trips are open to the entire LGBTQIA+ community, we also host specialized trans and non-binary travel retreats where trans, gender non-conforming, and non-binary folks can connect and travel with intention in a space made just for them.
We generally design our trips with LGBTQIA+ adults in mind, but many are also suitable for LGBTQIA+ young adults traveling with their queer or allied family members.
